URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Great Falls MT 233 PM MDT Wed May 1 2024 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 8 inches with highest amounts over the Big Belt and Snowy Mountain ranges. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Big Belt, Bridger and Castle Mountains and Snowy and Judith Mountains. * WHEN...Until 6 PM MDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Slush and or snow covered roads could cause difficult travel conditions. Those in the backcountry should ensure they have appropriate knowledge and gear and may want to consider alternate plans. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow amounts over Bozeman Pass look to be less than an inch or so. The worst roadway impacts further north will occur during the overnight and morning hours. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling.
