.Strong high pressure building across the southwestern states will cause temperatures to climb well above normal in many parts of interior southwest California today and through the middle of next week. The hottest temperatures are expected to be in the Antelope Valley early this week when highs between 108 and 112 degrees are expected. Temperatures in the coastal valleys of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties are expected to climb to 100- 106 early next week and even the inland parts of the Los Angeles coastal plain will reach the lower 90s.
The same upper ridge that will bring the heat, will also cause the marine layer to become very shallow and allowing areas of dense fog to develop across coastal areas of Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara County South Coast this morning.
