COASTAL HAZARD MESSAGE...UPDATED NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSONVILLE FL 517 PM EDT WED SEP 13 2017 ...coastal flood warning remains in effect until noon edt thursday... * coastal flooding, significant flooding is expected to continue along portions of the st johns river from jacksonville southward the palatka region and its tributaries. high tides will be around 1 to 3 feet above normal, locally higher in some spots the couple of days. water levels will be slow to recede in the st johns river basin. * timing, through thursday. * impacts, significant river flooding into some roadways and structures along the st johns river and its tributaries will continue. precautionary/preparedness actions... a coastal flood warning means that flooding is occurring or imminent. coastal residents in the warned area should be alert for rising water, and take appropriate action to protect life and property.
