Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio TX 901 AM CDT Wed Sep 22 2021 ...Near Critical Fire Weather Conditions Today... The combination of low humidity, gusty winds, and pockets of dry fuels will result in near critical fire weather conditions today across portions of the Hill Country, along the I-35 corridor, and east into the the Coastal Plains. Minimum RH values around 18-22% are forecast this afternoon. Sustained 20 foot winds around 15 mph are forecast this morning and 10-15 mph this afternoon. However, occasional gusts around 25 mph are forecast this morning and 15-20 mph this afternoon. Residents are urged to exercise care with respect to all outdoor activities that could inadvertently cause wildfires. Report wildfires quickly to the nearest fire department or law enforcement office.
