Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service San Diego CA 843 PM PST Sat Dec 30 2023 ...HIGH SURF WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM MONDAY... ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM MONDAY... * WHAT...For the High Surf Warning, dangerous large breaking waves of 6 to 11 feet with sets to 15 feet. Surf gradually decreasing Sunday afternoon. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, coastal flooding of low-lying beach parking lots and boardwalks. * WHERE...San Diego and Orange County Coastal Areas. * WHEN...Through 2 AM Monday. * IMPACTS...Large breaking waves may sweep people off jetties and docks. Strong rip currents will pose a risk of ocean drowning. Flooding of low-lying beach parking lots, boardwalks and roads near the beach. Beach erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... Locations most susceptible to flooding in Orange County include Seal Beach, Sunset Beach, and Newport Beach. Locations most susceptible to flooding in San Diego County include Cardiff and Seaside State Beaches, portions of Del Mar, La Jolla Shores, Mission Beach, and Imperial Beach. High tides for La Jolla: Sunday, December 31: 4.86 feet at 10:51 AM. High tides for Newport Beach: Sunday, December 31: 4.76 feet at 10:49 AM. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Everyone should remain out of the water due to life-threatening surf conditions. Stay off of jetties, piers, and other waterside infrastructure.
