URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 135 PM AKDT Thu Apr 25 2024 ...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM AKDT FRIDAY... * WHAT...Blizzard conditions. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph producing areas of blowing snow and visibility less than a quarter mile. * WHERE...Central Beaufort Sea Coast and Eastern Beaufort Sea Coast. * WHEN...Until 10 PM AKDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility to less than a quarter mile. The cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely.
