...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ON SATURDAY...
.West flow increasing again on Saturday as an upper level low
pressure system crosses the Southern Rockies. Winds speeds
increasing during much of the daytime hours, with gusts over
45 mph across much of southern New Mexico and far west Texas.
Conditions remain dry during the day with relative humidity
dropping to 10 to 15% mid-afternoon. Fuel conditions are dry due
to lack of rainfall in the past month as well as the precedent
drought status. The combination of weather factors and dry
grassland, brush, and timber will lead to critical fire danger
and risk of new fire starts and rapid spread.
