URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 333 PM AKDT Wed May 15 2024 ...BLIZZARD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM AKDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Blizzard conditions. Total snow accumulations of up to 6 inches. Winds gusting to 65 mph. * WHERE...Bering Strait Coast. * WHEN...Until 6 AM AKDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow is starting to taper off and blizzard conditions are becoming more intermittent, but there will be periods of blizzard conditions tonight. Winds should decrease from late tonight through Thursday morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions, making travel extremely difficult. &&
