.Heavy, widespread rainfall over the last several days has already
caused substantial rises in area rivers. Additional rainfall this
afternoon through Sunday across much of southern Minnesota will
support additional rises in area rivers. The axis of the heaviest
rainfall over the past 72 hours fell across SW Minnesota and N Iowa.
This has resulted in a slight lower trend with upcoming crests.
Moderate to major flooding is still forecast for many mainstem
forecast points.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
