URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Hanford CA 1112 AM PDT Sun Jun 23 2024 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM PDT TUESDAY... * WHAT...High temperatures of 102 to 108 degrees. Moderate to high heat risk is expected which will impact much of the population and those sensitive to the heat. * WHERE...The San Joaquin Valley, West Side Mountains, lower Sierra Nevada foothills, and the Kern River Valley. * WHEN...Until 11 AM PDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Little relief is expected from the heat during the overnight hours this weekend into Tuesday morning, and the heat risk will remain moderate to high during these hours. Minimum temperatures in Fresno and Bakersfield will remain in the mid to upper 70's. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles.
