The Northern City of Chesapeake in southeastern Virginia... The City of Hampton in southeastern Virginia... The Southern City of Newport News in southeastern Virginia... The City of Norfolk in southeastern Virginia... The City of Portsmouth in southeastern Virginia... The Northeastern City of Suffolk in southeastern Virginia... * Until 900 PM EDT. * At 549 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar.
