BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED Flash Flood Warning National Weather Service Charleston SC 1238 PM EDT Tue Aug 6 2024 The National Weather Service in Charleston has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... Screven County in southeastern Georgia... Allendale County in southeastern South Carolina... Beaufort County in southeastern South Carolina... Colleton County in southeastern South Carolina... Hampton County in southeastern South Carolina... Jasper County in southeastern South Carolina... * Until 500 PM EDT. * At 1238 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated light to moderate rainfall associated with Tropical Storm Debby moving across much of interior Southeast South Carolina into Southeast Georgia. As much as 5 to 13 inches of rain has fallen in this area so far. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall through this afternoon. The risk for flash flooding continues. Hampton County Emergency Management recently reported several roads washed out from flood waters in the county with a few homes flooded in the city of Hampton. Similar conditions are likely being observed elsewhere across the warning area. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated.
