Roanoke County in west central Virginia... The City of Roanoke in west central Virginia... The City of Salem in west central Virginia... * Until 130 AM EDT Friday. * At 532 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated bands of heavy rain passing across the warned area. Between 2 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen over the past few hours. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour with bands approaching the area from the east. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
