Northeastern Catawba County in the Piedmont of North Carolina... South central Alexander County in the Piedmont of North Carolina... West central Iredell County in the Piedmont of North Carolina... * Until 515 PM EDT. * At 430 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles north of Newton, or 4 miles west of Lookout Shoals Lake, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines. * Locations impacted include... St. Stephens, Conover, Claremont, Catawba, Lookout Shoals Lake, Sherrills Ford, Bandys, Oxford, Terrell, and Lake Norman State Park. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
