Carroll County in southwestern Virginia... Eastern Grayson County in southwestern Virginia... Wythe County in southwestern Virginia... The City of Galax in southwestern Virginia... * Until 600 AM EDT Friday. * At 1003 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated bands of heavy rain continue to pass across the warned area this evening, with rainfall rates of between 1 and 2 inches per hour. Between 5 and 9 inches of rain have fallen since this morning. Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches are possible in the warned area through dawn on Friday. Flash flooding is ongoing, with numerous flooded creeks and streams, as well as several closed roads due to flooding. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
