URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Louisville KY 452 AM EDT Fri Sep 27 2024 ...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM EDT /9 AM CDT/ THIS MORNING TO 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph expected. * WHERE...Portions of and south central Indiana and east central, north central and south central Kentucky. * WHEN...From 10 AM EDT /9 AM CDT/ this morning to 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
