URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 858 AM MST Thu Jan 9 2025 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM MST THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches over most lower elevation areas (below 7,500 feet) with higher amounts of 3 to 8 inches over the mountains and highlands (above 7,500 feet). Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, northeast, southeast, and west central New Mexico. * WHEN...Until 11 PM MST this evening. * IMPACTS...Plan on snow packed or icy road conditions. This includes portions of I-40 from Clines Corners eastward to the New Mexico-Texas border. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling.
