URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Huntsville AL 846 AM CST Fri Jan 10 2025 ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST SATURDAY NORTHERN ALABAMA AND SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE... * WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation Northern Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee. Additional snow and sleet accumulations up to 4 inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch. * WHERE...All of northern Alabama and southern middle Tennessee. * WHEN...Until 6 AM CST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, have become slick and extremely hazardous. Travel is strongly discouraged! The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.
