URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Binghamton NY 657 PM EST Sun Feb 16 2025 ...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 9 inches. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph. * WHERE...Madison and Onondaga Counties. * WHEN...Until 4 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The lake effect snow band will be heaviest overnight into Monday over the area. The highest snow totals from lake effect are expected along and north of the NY Thruway. Localized whiteout conditions are possible where the snow combines with very strong winds tonight into Monday afternoon.
