URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Peachtree City GA 436 AM EST Sat Mar 1 2025 ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM EST THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITIES, AND DRY FUELS FOR ALL OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA... * Affected Area...North and central Georgia. * Timing...11 AM Saturday through 8 PM Saturday. * Winds...Northwest 15 to 20 mph with frequent gusts to 25 mph or higher. Wind gusts to 35 mph are possible in the northern mountains. * Relative Humidity...Between 20 and 25 percent. * Temperatures...Lower 60s north to upper 70s southeast. * Impacts...Any fires that develop could spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... This warning includes the Chattahoochee and Oconee National Forests. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring or will occur within 24 hours. Please refer to the local burn permitting authorities on whether you may burn outdoors. If you do burn outside, use extreme caution.
