URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Lincoln IL 1135 AM CDT Thu Mar 13 2025 ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR HIGH WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR CENTRAL ILLINOIS ALONG AND NORTH OF I-72... The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Fire Weather Watch for high wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Friday afternoon through Friday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Knox, Stark, Peoria, Marshall, Woodford, Fulton, Tazewell, McLean, Schuyler, Mason, Logan, De Witt, Piatt, Champaign, Vermilion, Cass, Menard, Scott, Morgan, Sangamon and Macon. * TIMING...From Friday afternoon through Friday evening. * 20 FOOT WINDS...South 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as around 35 percent. * 10 HOUR FUELS...Less than 9 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly.
