URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Melbourne FL 205 AM EDT Mon Mar 17 2025 ...HIGH FIRE DANGER EXPECTED ACROSS EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA TODAY... ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS FOR ALL OF EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA... The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA... Volusia... Lake... Orange... Seminole... Osceola... Brevard... Okeechobee... Indian River... Saint Lucie... and Martin counties. * WIND...West to Northwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts 25 to 30 mph. * HUMIDITY...Minimum values of 25 to 35 percent. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly.
