URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Flood Watch National Weather Service New York NY 313 AM EDT Fri May 9 2025 ...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following areas, Northeast Suffolk, Northern Nassau, Northwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, Southern Nassau and Southwest Suffolk. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rainfall of 1-2 inches is expected through this evening. Locally higher amounts around possible where heavier rain bands set up.
