WATCH COUNTY NOTIFICATION FOR WATCHES 279/283 NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORMAN OK 956 PM CDT SAT MAY 17 2025 The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm watch 283 until 4 AM CDT sunday which replaces a portion of tornado watch 279. the new watch is valid for the following areas in oklahoma the new watch includes 13 counties in central oklahoma canadian cleveland grady kingfisher lincoln logan mcclain oklahoma pottawatomie in east central oklahoma seminole in northwest oklahoma blaine in southeast oklahoma hughes in southwest oklahoma caddo this includes the cities of anadarko, blanchard, chandler, chickasha, concho, davenport, el reno, geary, guthrie, hennessey, hinton, holdenville, kingfisher, meeker, moore, mustang, newcastle, norman, okarche, okeene, oklahoma city, prague, purcell, seminole, shawnee, stroud, tuttle, watonga, wellston, wetumka, wewoka, and yukon.
