URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Sacramento CA 1149 AM PDT Sun May 18 2025 ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT MONDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR FIRE ZONES 215,216,217,218 AND 219... * Winds...North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected. Strongest winds are expected across the central Sacramento Valley, along and west of Interstate 5. * Humidity...15 to 25 percent. * Highest Threat...Central and Southern Sacramento Valley along and west of the I-5 corridor and the Northern San Joaquin Valley. * Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
