Headline

...RED FLAG WARNING FOR PORTIONS OF WESTERN AND CENTRAL NEW MEXICO ON TUESDAY FROM 12PM TO 9PM MDT DUE TO STRONG WINDS, VERY LOW HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER...
.Very low humidity will combine with breezy west winds and dry fuels to create high fire danger in western and central New Mexico Tuesday afternoon. Eight to fifteen hours of single digit relative humidity will also contribute to the drying of fuels. Numerous lightning strikes occurred over the southwestern mountains last Friday so the increased winds may spread recent fire starts. This along with ongoing wildfires is posing higher risk for rapid fire spread.
