URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac MI 251 AM EDT Fri Jun 20 2025 ...EXTREME HEAT WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 104 possible. * WHERE...All of southeast Michigan. * WHEN...From Saturday morning through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Consecutive days of heat indices near or above 100 combined with overnight low temperatures remaining in the 70s will lead to dangerous conditions through the start of the week. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.
