URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Charleston WV 1213 AM EDT Tue Jun 24 2025 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 102. * WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, southwest Virginia, and portions of the southern coal fields and lower mountainous terrain of West Virginia. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...High temperatures and humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
