URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC 810 PM EDT Wed Jun 25 2025 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM TO 8 PM EDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected. * WHERE...Cabarrus, Davie, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Rowan, and Union Counties. * WHEN...From 2 PM to 8 PM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
