URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Albany NY 139 AM EDT Mon Jul 7 2025 ...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 95-97 expected. * WHERE...Eastern Albany, Eastern Schenectady, Northern Saratoga, Northern Washington, Southeast Warren, Southern Saratoga, Southern Washington, Western Rensselaer, Montgomery, and Southern Herkimer Counties. * WHEN...From noon today to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
