Central Amherst County in central Virginia... * Until 1000 PM EDT Wednesday. * At 355 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen since 2 pm. Rainfall rates with these storms are observed to be 2 inches per hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar.
