BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED Flash Flood Warning National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC 656 PM EDT Thu Jul 10 2025 The National Weather Service in Newport/Morehead City has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... North Central Dare County in eastern North Carolina... * Until 900 PM EDT. * At 656 PM EDT, Emergency management reported flash flooding, especially over northern Roanoke Island producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flooding has also been reported in Manteo, Manns Harbor and Nags Head. Between 4 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Manns Harbor, Manteo, Whalebone, Roanoke Island Festival Park, Jockeys Ridge State Park, Nags Head Fishing Pier and Wright Brothers National Monument.
