URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Burlington VT 138 AM EDT Wed Jul 16 2025 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Maximum Heat index values in the mid and upper 90s. * WHERE...In the St. Lawrence and Champlain Valleys. * WHEN...From noon to 8 PM today. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Remember to drink fluids and stay hydrated. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
