URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac MI 302 AM EDT Mon Jul 28 2025 ...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Heat index values from 97 to 101 degrees. * WHERE...All Southeast Michigan. * WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 10 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Check with local emergency management officials for information on cooling center availability.
