URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 711 PM MDT Tue Aug 5 2025 ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 7 PM MDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Temperatures up to 105 expected in Chaves County, including Roswell. Temperatures up to 101 for portions of the Albuquerque Metro area. * WHERE...Middle Rio Grande Valley including the Albuquerque Metro Area, and Chaves County Plains. * WHEN...From noon to 7 PM MDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
