URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service New York NY 305 AM EDT Wed Aug 20 2025 ...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THURSDAY EVENING... * WHAT...One to two feet of inundation above ground level possible in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. * WHERE...Richmond (Staten Island) County. * WHEN...Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Widespread moderate flooding in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
