Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service San Diego CA 1247 AM PDT Sat Aug 30 2025 ...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM PDT EARLY THIS MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Elevated surf of 3 to 6 feet with sets to 7 feet along Orange County beaches. Strong longshore currents and surf 3 to 5 feet along San Diego County beaches. * WHERE...San Diego County Coastal Areas and Orange County Coastal Areas. * WHEN...From late tonight through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...Strong rip currents for all beaches will create hazardous swimming conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The elevated surf is driven by a southerly swell (190 degrees) at 3 feet with a period of 16-18 seconds. Both swell and surf will begin to gradually lower Tuesday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
