URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Caribou ME 207 PM EDT Thu Sep 18 2025 ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR NORTHERN AND EASTERN MAINE... The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Fire Weather Watch for all of northern and eastern Maine, which is in effect from Friday morning through Friday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Quebec-Maine Borderlands, North Woods and St. John Valley, Eastern Aroostook, Central Highlands, Central Maine North of Bangor, Interior Downeast, Coastal Downeast, Bangor Region and Eastern Penobscot Bay Coast. * TIMING...Friday morning through Friday evening. * WINDS...Northwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 35 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Up to 68. * IMPACTS...Dry and windy weather combined with dry surface fuels could lead to extensive fire occurrence or rapid fire growth during the daylight hours.
