Localized dangerous travel will be possible under heavy lake effect snow bands for most of the day today, especially across stretches of US-131 and I-75. ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Additional snow amounts of 12 to 18"+ for parts of Antrim, Kalkaska, and Crawford counties. For other areas in and adjacent to the typical northwest lower snowbelts, additional snow accumulations between 5 and 9 inches. Lesser totals between 2 and 5 inches across eastern portions of Montmorency, Oscoda, and Ogemaw counties. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Antrim, Cheboygan, Otsego, Crawford, Kalkaska, Wexford, Missaukee, Roscommon, Ogemaw, Oscoda, and Montmorency counties. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Heavy snow and strong winds will lead to significant drops in visibility.
