Localized dangerous travel will be possible under heavy lake effect snow bands for most of the day today, especially across stretches of US-131 and I-75. ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow and strong winds expected. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Central Chippewa, Eastern Mackinac, Western Chippewa, and Western Mackinac Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Heavy snow and strong winds will lead to significant drops in visibility. Whiteout conditions are expected at times of heaviest snow and winds. Combination of visibility restrictions and snow covered roads will make for hazardous travel.
