URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Albany NY 101 PM EST Fri Nov 28 2025 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches. Total snow accumulations 2 to 6 inches in the heavier bands. Winds gusting as high as 35 to 40 mph. Areas of blowing snow. * WHERE...Schoharie, Montgomery and Fulton Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the holiday travel. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heavy lake effect snow showers may briefly produce snowfall rates of an inch an hour. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
