.Snow will taper down through the remainder of the morning into
early afternoon for most. Additional lake effect snow showers build
into the Grand Traverse Bay region later this afternoon before
eventually focusing on the northwest flow snowbelts of northern
lower and eastern upper Michigan tonight. Areas closer to Saginaw
Bay will likely dry out through the afternoon. Increasingly gusty
winds today will lead to some additional blowing / drifting snow
even after snowfall tapers.

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Gaylord MI 1033 AM EST Wed Dec 10 2025 ...WIDESPREAD SNOW THIS MORNING GIVES WAY TO LAKE EFFECT SNOW LATER TODAY INTO TONIGHT... .Snow will taper down through the remainder of the morning into early afternoon for most. Additional lake effect snow showers build into the Grand Traverse Bay region later this afternoon before eventually focusing on the northwest flow snowbelts of northern lower and eastern upper Michigan tonight. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will lead to blowing and drifting snow. * WHERE...A portion of Northern Lower Michigan. * WHEN...Until 4 PM EST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Gusty winds will lead to blowing and drifting snow at times through the afternoon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury. Open and prone areas will be susceptible to blowing / drifting snow along with reduced visibilities, which may lead to sporadic hazardous travel conditions even after snow tapers.
