URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Denver CO 219 PM MST Thu Dec 18 2025 ...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 8 PM MST FRIDAY... * WHAT...West winds 35 to 50 mph with gusts up to 100 mph possible. * WHERE...Rocky Mountain National Park and the Medicine Bow Range, The Mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range, and the Indian Peaks, The Northern Front Range Foothills, and The Southern Front Range Foothills. * WHEN...From 9 PM this evening to 8 PM MST Friday. * IMPACTS...Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines, with power outages possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Strong winds may lead to rapid fire growth of any new fire in the lower foothills. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind.
