URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 136 PM AKST Mon Dec 22 2025 ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM AKST TUESDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills between 50 and 60 below zero. * WHERE...Fortymile Country, mainly within the Yukon Riverbed to the AlCan border, and for locations such as Eagle, and Upper Tanana Valley. * WHEN...Until 3 PM AKST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 60 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 minutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...For Fortymile Country, easterly winds will will continue through Monday evening between 15 and 25 mph, keeping wind chill values between 55 and 60 below zero. Overnight, winds may diminish. However, any decrease in wind will allow temperatures to fall back toward 50 below zero. For the Upper Tanana Valley, light winds will keep wind chill values around 55 below zero. Overnight, winds may diminish, allowing temperatures to fall back to 50 below zero or colder. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
