URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Duluth MN 251 AM CST Sun Dec 28 2025 ...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO NOON CST MONDAY... * WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations between 10 and 16 inches except between 11 and 17 inches for northern and east-central Ashland County and between 16 and 20 inches for northern Iron County. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...Ashland and Iron Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Bad River Reservation and the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band. Other locations including Madeline Island. * WHEN...From noon today to noon CST Monday. * IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected, and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening, especially along Highway 2. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.
