URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Marquette MI 410 AM EST Mon Dec 29 2025 ...BLIZZARD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Blizzard conditions. Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 7 inches, highest in areas of higher terrain. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph. * WHERE...Baraga, Keweenaw, Northern Houghton, and Southern Houghton Counties. * WHEN...Until 4 PM EST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel will be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive tree damage. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.
