URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Cleveland OH 121 PM EST Tue Dec 30 2025 ...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet with isolated higher amounts in excess of 2 feet possible closer to the lakeshore. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Crawford, Northern Erie, and Southern Erie Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact holiday travel. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The heaviest lake effect snow will persist near the lakeshore this evening into Wednesday morning. Another period of heavy lake effect snow will arrive Wednesday afternoon and overnight, impacting the entire area. Snowfall rates may reach 2 inches per hour at times Wednesday evening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel.
