Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Albany NY 333 AM EST Wed Jan 7 2026 ...Pockets of Freezing Rain and Locally Slippery Travel Conditions Possible through 9 AM This Morning... With temperatures hovering near freezing in some locations, pockets of freezing rain will be possible across portions of the greater Capital Region, Taconics and mid Hudson Valley of eastern New York, and southern Litchfield County in northwest Connecticut through 9 AM this morning. Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution if driving or walking through 9 AM this morning, as some untreated ground surfaces may remain icy and slippery, especially less traveled roadways, highway on and off ramps, driveways and parking lots.
