Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Binghamton NY 449 AM EST Thu Jan 8 2026 ...Patchy Dense Fog and Icy Spots Possible This Morning... Mist, drizzle, and fog have left surfaces wet and with temperatures near or just below freezing in some locations. Localized icy spots will be possible on untreated surfaces. Shallow ground fog is also locally dense over the cold snow pack early this morning, with localized visibilities less than 1/4 mile possible. Use caution if walking or driving early this morning. Be prepared for rapid visibility changes and for icy spots on roadways, sidewalks, stairs, driveways or any other untreated surfaces.
