Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Albany NY 459 AM EST Thu Jan 8 2026 ...Patchy Freezing Drizzle and Fog with Icy Spots Possible This Morning... Across the southwest Adirondacks, Mohawk Valley, eastern Catskills and Helderbergs, Taconics, southern Green Mountains and Berkshires, patchy freezing drizzle and fog will remain possible through mid morning, especially across higher elevations. This will create icy ground surfaces and reduced visibilities. Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution if driving or walking through 9 AM this morning and be prepared for a possible thin layer of ice on roadways, sidewalks, stairs, driveways or any other untreated ground surfaces which may remain icy and slippery.
